William McDonough is the Chairman of McDonough Advisors and advises major enterprises on going "beyond sustainability" using Cradle to Cradle® thinking at all scales. Trained as an architect and widely recognized as a leader in sustainable development, he is founder of William McDonough + Partners and designer of many of the flagships of sustainable design, including the Forge Rouge truck plant in Dearborn, MI; the Adam Joseph Lewis Center for Environmental Studies at Oberlin College; and NASA's new "space station on Earth," Sustainability Base, completed in 2011. With chemist Dr. Michael Braugart, he is co-founder of McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry and the not--for-profit Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, created to provide Cradle to Cradle CertificationCM, a global standard for the development of safe and healthy products. Mr. McDonough is also a Strategic Advisor for VantagePoint Capital Partners, one of the largest clean-tech venture capital funds in the world, and a member of Walmart's External Advisory Council.
