Dr. McCombs Candida Plan was born in 1993 while I was practicing in Chicago. I was working with several patients who had come to see me for help with multiple symptoms and health concerns.

In my book I talk about Elizabeth. She told me that she hadnt felt well in many years and was living, as she put it, half a life. During her first office visit she described aching joints, almost daily headaches, irregular menstruation, digestive difficulties, steady weight gain, food allergies, insomnia, and increasing periods of depression. She was embarrassed that the parade of medical specialists she had seen over the years had come to think of her as a hypochondriac. After all she had so many symptoms, but no consistent diagnosis.

There was also a patient who had been suffering from pain in her right arm and wrist for approximately 6 months. Chiropractic care was helpful but it never relieved the pain completely. Her medical doctor had recommended drugs, which didnt do much other than causing nausea and drowsiness.

A couple of years earlier, in the winter of 1991, I had lost my father to a brain tumor. Although painful, his death was the spark that ignited me to study and research the physiology of the body, beyond just performing chiropractic adjustments. I knew how incapacitating and frustrating it was to be thrown into the medical system and watch the health of a loved one progressively deteriorate while nobody had an answer.

When these patients came to see me I was determined to explore their issues from a different point of view and not just dismiss them as if it was all in their heads. Through testing we determined that both were suffering from a fungal candida infection. At the time I didnt really know much about Candida and the people that I had studied under didnt really have much of a definition or working knowledge of it either.

I began looking at what would be the most effective natural approach. Through extensive research, and supported by their willingness to walk this path of discovery with me, a detoxification protocol emerged which would later be known as The Lifeforce Plan.

Within a couple of weeks, their symptoms began fading away as the fungus was eliminated and balance began to be restored in their bodies. In addition to eliminating the pain, they both experienced more energy, better sleep, weight loss, and a lessening of arthritic symptoms in their bodies.

I started using the plan on other patients with similar complaints and they also experienced the same successful results. Over time, I saw how the plan was able to increase the overall health and well-being of all of my patients.

These results inspired me even more to keep researching and trying different approaches in treating the bodys imbalances. The same enthusiasm I felt then I feel today and perhaps even more so.

The more I study the more I realize the vastness of whats still left to discover about the miracles the body can perform when given the appropriate care, tools and support. This conviction and the ability to provide answers where there were only questions before, is the spark that continually ignites my dedication to remain in a constant process of learning and discovery, never settled in my ways and past experience.

The McCombs Plan reveals a path to transformation, and that is why it is at the heart of my practice as a physician.
