"I don't mind dying in a game as long as I know what I could've done to prevent it."
- Ed Stern
"Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved"
"Some time, in the far future, when we have to pay per view websites, and freedom of speech is a theoretical concept that is squashed by the thought police, we will be telling our grandchildren about how WE had a web revolt when they tried to ban a certain number. I sincerely hope it doesn't come to that though. Secretly, I want the net to live on as a digital wild west with a big angry mob that lynches idiots and money grubbing lawyers."
"Anonymous will always be united. It is the mid line within everything in the universe. It is not dark. It is not good. It simply is. But members must always fight with each other. When they fight, change will always happen. Change advances anonymous further. Nothing is sacred. Nothing remains the same. The only constant is change."
"We do not forgive
We do not forget
United as one
Divided by zero
Expect us"
"Three of my grandparents spoke Finnish, and I remember every now and then in church there'd be a sermon in Finnish for the benefit of the older folk. I don't know the language myself, but I can recognize it pretty easily when it's spoken.
I remember it sounding very rhythmic (probably partially because, as Eledhlos mentioned, the accent is on the first syllable). I couldn't really tell where one word ended and the next began (but that's what every language I don't understand sounds like), but every syllable seemed very distinct, so it seemed almost like a drum roll, only much slower, and with vowels between the beats. There aren't really any harsh sounds, like in German where it sometimes sounds like they're trying to clear a lugie from their throats. The consonants are softer (to my ears, anyway) than English, for example, "t" sounds more like "d" in Finnish. The consonants sound more like a thud (d, g, b) than a crash or pop (t, k, p). (I know Finnish has t, k, and p in it, what I mean is that they just sound softer.) Even the "r" has somewhat of a thud to it. I was surprised as a kid when I found out how "terve" was spelled, because it sure the heck doesn't sound like there's an "r" in there. It sounds more like a trilled "d."
I wouldn't say Finnish sounds musical or melodic. Just rhythmic. Almost hypnotic. I think it's pleasant, but that could just be because it reminds me of my youth."
