Maya Dance Theatre Ltd was established in late 2006 by a group of artists who are passionate about designing and presenting thought provoking, process focused contemporary dance theatre productions.

Maya showcase the explorative efforts of both independent artistes as well as local and international performing arts groups.

We have an upcoming production called The Legend; the journey begins...

The Legend; The Journey Begins... narrates the Ramayana epic through music, dance and theatre with a cast of more than 20 dancers. The show features a myriad of dance styles, including ethnic dance forms such as Bharatha Natyam and Wayang Wong Balinese dance theatre. Directed by Kavitha Krishnan, The Legend marks the first time a Singapore arts company explores Ramayana through the amalgamation of Asian dance vocabularies and contemporary dance theatre. The Legend reflects Maya Dance Theatres commitment to contribute in building a vibrant art scene in Singapore.

On 1 and 2 August, The Legend; The Journey Begins... will take viewers on journey to indulge in a night of music and mystic as the legendary fable comes to life!
