The term "creative genius" shouldn't be thrown around lightly. Many names in the music industry may receive this credit when they don't do half of what Mr. Brevner has accomplished in a few short years. The New Westminster, BC native has only been in the game for a little while, and yet he's already making waves across Canada, the United States, and Japan.

Brevner himself is an eclectic mix - Canadian-born, half Japanese, half Trinidadian - Matt is a producer, MC, engineer, and creative director. Matt's fearless dedication to his craft and undeniable lyrical skill proves that not only is he on his way to "making it", but he's setting a new standard for the kind of music that should be coming out of Canada.

Matt made his international debut with his first album, MAGNUM OPUS, in the summer of 2009, featuring hit singles like "Never Gonna Be My Friend", "Mine" and "Up and Down". Tracks immediately hit the airwaves on The Beat 94.5 (Vancouvers Top 40) and television on MTV Canada's "Peak Season" and Global TV. "He has the swagger, the lyrical ability, the production abilities, and the work ethic. I'll admit, its contagious. I'll say on record that (Magnum Opus) is a classic" - Ryan Ventura (Class and Grime). Matt spent a few months touring Osaka and Tokyo, where he gained national attention and an exploding fan base. Back in BC, Matt toured Western Canada with Moka Only and opened for acts such as Zion I, Souls of Mischief, Juelz Santana, Mobb Deep, Bun B, J-Live, Warren G, and Karl Wolf.

In early 2010, Matt made his way to New York City, where he had the chance to bump heads with artists like Curren$y and Peter Hadar, and be interviewed by TRACE Magazine. Inspired by the city and the creative energy, Matt returned to BC to work on his latest mixtape, BLISSFUL IGNORANCE, which reached 12,000 downloads in less than two weeks after release. This time, Matt dove deep into the rising world of dupstep, producing a more mature album that is much darker, more aggressive and politically-charged than his first release.

Matt's success so far has been achieved solely by himself and the people who believe in him. He has had next to no PR or marketing campaign - a fact that speaks volumes about the quality of his work and his ever-growing dedicated fan base.
