Elevetor Con 2011 Crash Landing
The elevator falls 19 floors and is stopped by emergency brakes. We were trapped in there for about an hour. Thanks to the San Jose fire departme...
Elevators have both electromagnetic and inertia driven emergency brakes. They will engage if the car over accelerates too fast in either direction using counterweights, so FALLING 19 floors maybe a bit dramatic. But I did see the Fire Dept come rescue you guys :p
