JeemRadio Shows & Intro Uploads
JeemRadio #027 2012:02:17
JeemRadio Presents...
Eclectic Bi-Weekly Mix of 2012:02:17 (Show #027)
Exlaination:
This show originates from a lack of my kind of music on the radio. I thought no wonder this kind of music doesn't tour here, maybe if I had a slot on the radio if it would be popular and in demand.
Well I realized making my own YT channel would be a simple way to explore what that might sound like. I also have been getting in some fun while sharping some other skills that might otherwsie be going to waste, by doing the intros with music.
In the end I feel it's worth the effort if just for myself, as it will continue to grow in it's own ways.
This Shows Intro:
The introduction this time is a reuse of Golden Delicious from a previous show. I'm of course busy finding time for the next experimental intro (it's taken much longer then expected). Of course it's noted all original music and visuals created by me.
Theme Notes:
I'm away on vacation for a couple weeks! I wanted to theme this show about getting away and relaxing... but even I got bored of that after sometime.
I also found a good trail connecting a couple of different musical angles, which is also at the heart of the JeemRadio concept on a level akin to mixology.
Access:
I do have an account for this at zickmantel.james@gmail.com or MastaJamez on YouTube.
Here is the YouTube Playlist version of the show that will play all of them back2back...
[Note: Besides adjusting the volume from time to time, you might have to turn on autoplay. It appears as a bar along the bottom of the page, the icons are on the far left. Click the rotating arrows icon to enable autoplay, and the double up arrows show the playlist. Then select the first clip and it should autoplay the entire show.]
Remember to follow along with my liner notes as this can be not only interesting but important at times. The new system allows the comments to appear per item, so that's good, but they are limited in length.

"A Song a day!", to play from day to day or party away the day, either way it's okay.
A track in the mornin' is a great way to keep the day from bein' borin'.
[Unfortunately I can't Master these together other than skipping ones that are too loud or to quite, so keep the volume at hand, thanks.]

Pretty straight forward show, I guess the tail is bass-centric if anything. A couple of greats I've often forgotten to put in the show before sprinkled around with good measure.

Reuse for the introduction this time is from the last show (most current). I'm of course busy finding time for the next experimental intro (it's a bigger deal and worth the wait I think). Of course it's noted all original music and visuals created by me.
Pretty straight forward show, just a collection of stuff I stumbled upon. Fair amount of stuff in EA but that's what it's for I suppose.

All new intro in my traditional style. I've only just got proper driver updates after 2-3 years so my studio is not restricted to basically just punch-cards and piano-rolls! (Although this ones music basically is.)
This show is an attempt to restore the JeemRadio Show standards for Halloween and Xmas have taken us to other realms!
Basically in this show as usual, I feel that get back on track with the Jazz Fusion I crave about half way through.
Here is a little Promo for a Video I put together with Matthew Hodgins Skimboarding in Port Renfrew!

The intro I reused again from last time since Xmas has kept me busy. It's just a mishmash of artsy fartsy stuff I found laying around.
This show is a special year-end Christmas double-bonus Show! (For all that extra time you'll have by the fire.)
First some Xmas tracks, then we migrate over to my usual kind of show, so there is the best of both to keep you busy over the holidays.
There's a couple of tracks trickling off the ending these days with the Knowledge Base, Newz, and Extra Activities. I've decided if these are going to remain linked in the show they need to be somewhat musically entertaining too.

There was a slight delay getting this fresh new Intro video ready. It's just a mishmash of artsy fartsy stuff I found laying around.
THis more of a chillout spaceout kind of show. Just keeping it fresh exploring a little more.

I'm sticking with the latest intro again this time. It's all me, eccentric and F'ed up. This is what happens if you listen to Joe's Garage (or JeemRadio) too much.
It's time to get back to biznez as usual here at JeemRadio, I suppose it's an Eclectic mix of stuff. Some new, some old, some smooth, and some not so too.

JeemRadio #019 2011:10:28
Jeem Radio Presents...
Eclectic Bi-Weekly Mix of 2011:10:28 (Show #019)
"A Song a day!", to play from day to day or party away the day, either way it's okay.
A track in the mornin' is a great way to keep the day from bein' borin'.
For the Intro this time we have a very special Halloween entry. It's all me. Eccentric and F'ed up. It's exactly what happens if you listen to Joe's Garage too much. Heed the warnings.
Last show was definitely a massive undertaking and many great influences were lost in what was the large B-Day Special show to date.
Anyway I figure I'd revisit memory lane a little longer so it's just random tracks that may more represent the genre of influence and/or take us down various routes.
Flight Of The NewBorn (It's still new to somebody out there. It's still pretty out there too I suppose.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQ6ewH98Njg&feature=related
LEVEL 42 - HELL - UNRELEASED INSTRUMENTAL (Rare Gem here too, but the band was definitely influential.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvzdRThsAik&feature=related
Level 42 - Hot Water - Live - Prince's Trust 1986 (A better know more classical example of pulsing beats from my youth.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHlWTYo3aRo&feature=related
David Bowie - Putting Out Fire aka Cat People (I always liked how this song awakens deep strong emotional energy in me.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWX_MFNOL_Y
Elton John - Rocket Man (Let us not forget the long history of space travel.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LX7WrHCaUA
Shatner doing Elton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lul-Y8vSr0I&feature=related
Stewie doing Shatner doing Elton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXuSWUXDnuo&feature=related
Elton John aka Captain Fantastic - Tell Me When the Whistle Blows (More classical and bluesy I figure CF needed serious mention.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sP4psheIqRQ&feature=related
Jethro Tull- Songs from the Wood (This and many others hit an ageless note I always find homely and refreshing. Still it ultimately has some complicated forms of fusion.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2MgU7PNHgw
David Sanborn - The Dream - (So great it got overplayed like stairway to heaven at a house party in the late 80's. Definitely reminds me of The Rippington's style.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsq5eWCRz0U
Driven to tears - sting (Do I recognize this background singer from the late show?! Hmmm.... it's not about the singing is it Sting, it's about the fez clearly.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iDmPXlWfZE
Herbie Hancock & Omar Hakim - Call it 95 (Followed Omar from the last one, and I'm not surprised where it lead. One can follow any of the many tangents as you need.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-szM2lB88BM
Pat Metheny Group - Have you heard (I always remember Pat when asked about what music he liked his answer was anything with Herby. Certainly my tastes matured from Sweet.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApI-zA6suXE
Looking On - Ken Navarro (Where I'm looking from now?... I can't complain. It's new to me but similar in many ways, so I try to share what I've found after years of listening.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cChLydII_E&feature=related
Bill Bruford - Hells Bells (Just wanting to up the Halloween vibe.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAhc_VhhaLQ
Bruford Five G (That was short lets keep on that then.)

Jeem Radio Presents...
Eclectic Bi-Weekly Mix of 2011:10:14 (Show #018)
Sweet - Action (This is the first song I remember playing over and over.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKBSFKcav7w
ACDC back in black (Well this ones not in order, but it's classic I would have played for sure!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwIvBNsSywQ
Rock N' Roll All Night - Kiss (Most popular kiss song ever)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSYXXIW9gfE
Supertramp - Crime of the Century (This I'd say was my second favorite I played the whole album and the others over and over! It brings me joy to see it's still played on the radio today. Forever great, so I feel privileged to have had it as an early influence)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJJ7p5qZIU4
[I think I thought the Crime was to not living life as you alone felt is correct and just be one of many in a world all the same]
Supertramp - The Logical Song -1979 (Well I like to think of myself as a Logical person, but this song is as memorable and tied into my thoughts on the crime of the century and maybe the origins of runaway corporate greed it really speaks of)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpBso3kGdBc&feature=related
[You can't not sing along, it builds up and mellows out, solos that move you, in a word "moving"]
Frank Zappa! - Sofa No.2&1 (I was drawn by the humor and stayed for the genius. I like #2 first, so you can sing along but it demonstrates this concept)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYgf0HL_5mQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Pz0TGzqX2k
[Moving for me, I think I appreciated the potential of the voice and the melding of orchestra, rock, voice, and many things but mostly the expressive power of music]
Frank Zappa - Watermelon in Easter Hay ~Live (My Messiah ~ clearly Anointed by some kind of Godly thoughts. A fellow brother also in search of the lost chord. He's been as close as one can get, like Beethoven. Experimenters of sorts)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vu9lLcaCLdQ&feature=fvsr
Beethoven Symphony No.9 (The vocal part ends with the final word Gotterfunken literally, Godly-spark!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAOTCtW9v0M
The Rolling Stones-Angie (Yes there were many rock stars to enjoy but they we're not part of my story really. This song is my ode to the long list of them)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXRExocnpUw
Neil Young-Only Love Can Break Your Heart (Extremely versatile, I remember how NY's catchy folky narratives bring a mindfulness, to my thoughts)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOl01vKXv6I&feature=related
Yes - Roundabout (so some stood out more for me. If it transported you in some way, I liked it. Yes did that and more!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPOTg-7pV64&feature=related
Yes - South Side of the Sky (Besides the astronomical ups&downs, it takes one away for seemingly eternity in and for only a moment flawlessly)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvU6dttJb-k&feature=related
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE BY PINK FLOYD (The silent voice of god from future's past, thank you for the welcoming encouragement to understand how music transcends normal states of communication, and relay the message our purpose and more)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hDoWvA059Y
Mahavishnu Orchestra - Miles Beyond (as rock matured, a mindfulness formed, and I followed)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8Fboivna0o&feature=related
The Elektric Band (With the message know, I discovered other funky ways to let my own imagination run)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng_1zKcdw8M
[At this point who played on what and if they played on that other thing then I might like that. Jazz&Rock=Fusion took hold and became preferred]
Dave Weckl Band - Access Denied (We can follow that player to player lead for a quick example.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrdUJyz-tMk
[so next I found a feverish pitch consuming and embraced a lighter variant the majority of the time, as there was more uniqueness to discover for me there]
Snowbound - The Rippingtons (Due to a friend's theft of CDs and insurance claimed followed a sweep of the shelves at the CD store. The insightful artworks of these cool cats opened a new door and as a "tourist in Paradise" I discovered my favorite band)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22kXuD-uvXA
The Rippingtons-20th Anniversary Bonus (This is good smooth jazz and performed well live. 1st under GRP. Grusin gave it the wind to grow)

JeemRadio #017 2011:09:30
Jeem Radio Presents...
Eclectic Bi-Weekly Mix of 2011:09:30 (Show #017)
"A Song a day!", to play from day to day or party away the day, either way it's okay.
A track in the mornin' is a great way to keep the day from bein' borin'.
[Unfortunately I can't Master these together other than skipping ones that are too load to quite, so keep the volume at hand, thanks.]
I'm repeating the latest Intros as to get good mileage out of them. They are all original cheese music and substandard visuals created by me (I take full credit & blame).
Sure smooth Jazz is good, but it's time to embrace other stuff, and recooperate on some neglect, so first I'll hook up the FZ and begin to drill your mind for liquid gold. (aka Freak-Out Time)
A couple of other random FreakOut sessions to mix it up some you've heard a 1000 times before, others never and never again.
Then we explore how rebellious Rock&Roll evolved through the mindful expressionism that its freedoms formed to result in a more artful melding, I'd categorize in general as Fusion.
Remember to follow along with my liner notes as this can be not only interesting but important at times.

Frank Zappa & Al DiMeola: Clownz on Velvet live (Rare, Rockin', & Radical! What more could I want. Missed Frank in the last while, time to get my fill, and then some?)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGHcoeoht8M&feature=related
Frank Zappa - Black Napkins ("Um" Yes More "Z-Rock" please. Do you feel the love?)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c-NMnYhM3Q
Frank Zappa - Muffin Man (Sometime a little Utility Research Kitchen R&D goes a long way)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFIMWRXWY90&feature=related
Guitar battle: Steve Vai vs Dweezil Zappa -- Zappa plays Zappa DVD concert (New era in Zappa tradition, yes it's like X-mas now.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=oH1ybin4ZEU
Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsys - Who Knows (Okay time for a more traditional calming energetic rock vibe freak out session)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCuMhNHZtWc
Shimon - Jazz Freak RAMM55 (Freak-out Interlude)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW_Al-aOMDI&feature=related
Brand X - Born Ugly (This would be a more transitional fusion of rock & jazz in my mind anyway.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TALWkw3cWqA
Brand X - Disco Suicide (Reminds me of many things from this era, Corea, Yes, Dimeola, Zappa, Clark, etc. varied and representing well the golden age.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoGfCykXp54&feature=related
Brand X - Tales of Ancient Mysteries. BBC Radio 1 session (A rare find with a good moogy vibe. I love the vibe sounds as it's melodic and percussive typically.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOn1o5s8N64
Bill Bruford With Gong - Master Builder (More like the one before, a mindfulness was discovered in rock and culture, as a much needed reaction to it's oppressive & restrictive origins... no more was this to be.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGAXSXKdI_0&feature=related
One Time - King Crimson (Cool Video. It ties into Bruford and Belew. As well it relates to how "mindfulness" lead to the smoothing of the Rock rebellion. Well at least that's my current perception.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhJKCW2_w3k&feature=related
King Crimson-Three of a Perfect Pair (This is what allowed the rebellious Rock to become more of an art form through expressionism we entered the so called "Golden Era"... I don't really know what I'm talking about actually, but make what you will of it.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_WMv3BwhaU
Adrian Belew, Matchless Man (Transition from Crimson leaves Belew, for some not so familiar but he's been the man behind the curtain for a long time)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgiEpqO_lqg&feature=related
Bears - The Bears - Man behind the Curtain (Here's a song by him with the Bear's even! Somebody just posted these, 1 views for some of the related tracks. Please feel free to explore the spin off links then.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9Tf-jO2L80
[It still shows a tainting of psychedelics in the chanting at the end, etc.]
Chad Wackerman ~ Close To Home ft. Allan Holdsworth 1993 (Okay now we will move deeper into the Jazzier side of Fusion as a mindful experience of emotionally moving expressionism.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YkPzOn40yE
Allan Holdsworth ~ Red Alert (More of the same, but it's clearly an example of an evolution of music from where I'm sitting.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMi2mCe7CKg&feature=related
Greg Howe, Dennis Chambers (Grand Finale?... no, to be continued follows)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpiAl-Gvx_Q&feature=related
Tetsuo Sakurai - Dennis Chambers-Greg Howe. During their tour! (I'm ending the show for this week now. Good bye my friends. BUT there are more new sections that follow now: Knowledge, Activities, & Newz)

This is not themed just an interesting mix ("something for everyone" kinda theme maybe).
I like to think they all get better near the end more, which may be truer for this one then the others.
I try to put something potent at the beginnings of course, but certainly rewards await those that can get through it.
I do have an account for this at zickmantel.james@gmail.com or MastaJamez

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8kcuqIqmIU&feature=related
King Crimson-Frame By Frame (There are 3 things you should know about this song)
1).The time signature in the chorus is 7/4 and the guitar/drum rhythms can also be considered polyrhythmic to each other.
2).At 4:21 Belew and Fripp are playing in 7/8 until one guitar plays in 13/8 starting at 4:31.
3).The guitars line after 91 beats

I've slapped together another one of my bizarre introduction videos. Again all original cheese music and substandard visuals, but it's not I'm being paid to do this and/or have all the time in the world.
This show is rooted in origins by a special request from Stu for his Girlfriend from Japan has returned! Welcome Back!
I did however exploring the possibilities find sufficient content as you will also discover.
Time to keep it funky & popping, and may the fusion be stylish in a way new to you! I will be migrate back to English though.
Here is the YouTube Playlist version of the show that will play all of them back2back...
[Note: You might have to turn on autoplay. It appears as a bar along the bottom of the page, the icons are on the far right of that. Click the rotating arrows icon to enable autoplay, and the double up arrows show the playlist. Then select the first clip and it show autoplay the entire show.]
Remember to follow along with my liner notes as this can be not only interesting but important at times.

We reach out only when we need to, but it is because it feels good. I hope that this show inspires you to reach out and touch something even if you don't need to.
Be it a loony to a bum or an email to an old friend, hell why not both.

Jeem Radio Presents... Eclectic Bi-Weekly Mix of 2011:07:22 (Show #012)
"A Song a day!", to play from day to day or party away the day, either way it's okay.
A track in the mornin' is a great way to keep the day from bein' borin'.
[Unfortunately I can't Master these together other then skipping ones that are too load to quite, so keep the volume at hand, thanks.]
Well this time the show is I hope at least touching, and best moves you in an emotional way.
We reach out only when we need to, but it is because it feels good. I hope that this show inspires you to reach out and touch something even if you don't need to.
Be it a loony to a bum or an email to an old friend, hell why not both.
Gabriel - Father, Son - Official Music Video - a true family project (It's a little quite but it makes a good start)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PMEuJmz3CU&feature=related
David Grey-Please Forgive Me (Just trying to keep a little upbeat and make a hip start, since overall this is a pretty sad collection)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N25Zx65vWeE
Five For Fighting - Superman ~ It's Not Easy (palitable for me, it's inspiring, well at least the graphics are, no seriously it qualifies for this sucky theme)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRz4FY0ZcwI
Our House : Crosby, Stills & Nash (Classic sucky, but the harmonies make me crack a smile.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mst5ln5AAqI
Neil Young - Long May You Run (You'll always love this, one and ironically they had him do it for the 2010 Olympics here in Vancouver, well I might add.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zapIW8f6kk
Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton - Can't Find My Way Home (Good sound, and draws us in and back to the time most should recall when good ol'rock'n'roll reigned supreme)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT-SFgkVlno&feature=related
Eric Clapton - Tears In Heaven (Here the news clip that explains the follow song, hard to be moving then that I suppose)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLJsQOMq2-g&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxPj3GAYYZ0
Michael Bublé - "Home" Official Music Video (I do like this song and would be as proud as I'm sure they are for making it a reality.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbSOLBMUvIE
[Three songs with the same name...?... maybe another theme idea there.]
Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush - Don't Give Up (Back to Pete as we wind down, this I'd like a crack at too... maybe one day.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiCRZLr9oRw
Gums - Don't Give Up (Very popular, why, well the ryming scheme is easy A,A,A,A repeat. It's a good time vibe we needed by now, and has the same name.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBbGf7T-zZc
Noisettes - Don't Give Up (It sounds familiar to something Nelle F did too? Maybe it's the comic relief for this show, sorry FZ.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-RI8-eSQoQ
Johnny Cash Hurt (This pretty much his Life Story I suppose, it definately qualifies for motivating one into giving a bum an apple as I did today [not that he had the teeth left for it].)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmVAWKfJ4Go&feature=related
David Bowie feat Nine Inch Nails - I'm Afraid Of Americans (Run Bowie they suck! Just kidding.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slKNd22GGaQ&feature=related
David Bowie - Cat People aka Putting Out the Fire (Here's another track I imagine myself singing as it moves me deeply, good vision now who's afraid.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBk0-43GIdY
Pat Metheny Group - Are You Going With Me? (Okay well we need a reminder of the kind of music this show is meant to expose to others, also thought invoking and moving 2me2)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HCwIuvTMuU
Pat Metheny Imaginary Day (culteral influences for broadening the mind is a nice addition about now I figured)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbIGlolM9G4&feature=related
LORD OF THE STARFIELDS (This touches the soul as it fully demonstrates how music can make connections. BC gets points for basically being a siritual conduit.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFkM_R3CZvI&feature=related
Chick Corea,Gary Novak,Miller,Marienthal-SPACE live part 1 (Just a cool live moment I thought I'd include here... but maybe it's because the music I'm really trying to share I find moves me more then top 40 and that music should connect you with thoughts and feelings of the performer in ways you might not be familiar with.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lX2X1me5fkI
Vinnie Colaiuta John Patitucci w/ Chick Corea (how to not really lose it in one impossible lesson)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gk9al9JksSE&feature=related
Chick Corea Elektric Band - Beneath The Mask (this is connected to the ideas of getting jazz funky the Elektric Band way... a good starting point for the music I've learned to appreciate over the years.)

Okay looking for that laidback summery jazz again. To calm a busy week.
Remember music is the key to which we play the tune of our lives, it stems from a primal source origin unknown (or really it's harmoniously everywhere), which extends deep down to the bone.
