Put Teachers on Top
This is what's wrong with American education and here's a two-step plan to fix it.
@THiS3EEGROWS Thanks for the kind words. I hope it is "slightly younger" and not "much, much younger" people that see it come to fruition.

@song110beforgiving Yes. "Up" is radially outward. There have been some very expensive laboratory experiments using a ton of liquid sodium, but the conditions do not quite replicate natural conditions.

@jzylkin You need to look at an electrical engineering text. It's a bit complicated, but it works.

@jzylkin A man-made dynamo is designed to amplify a tiny magnetic field which then serves to generate an electric current caused by the rotation. Generally, the tiny magnetic field that starts the process is the residual magnetism in the iron pole pieces. Sometimes that residual magnetic field is...

@Ms1mark2 These are good questions. There is evidence to believe that the matter of Earth literally rained-out from within a giant gaseous protoplanet with iron first raining out to form the core followered by the mantle silicates. Initially the uranium was dissolved in the iron, then precipitate...

@strom56 Thanks for the kind words. I know of no way to project an image onto the geomagnetic field. Maybe that's good. Can you imagine images of the Golden Arches or maybe the Marlboro Man embrazened across the sky? Thanks for viewing.

@Nomoreidsleft Yes. Changes in the solar wind can induce currents, hence heat, in the georeactor sub-shell. In extreme cases that might even cause reversals or excursions. Thanks for viewing

@alexandersydney Those iron meteorites formed under much more oxidizing conditions as can be deduced from the FeO content if their silicate inclusions. The mantle has a lower thermal conductivity, lower heat capacity and higher viscosity than the coreand therefore cannot efficiently remove heat a...

@moonrockguy U-238 can fission by fast neutrons, but it is most readily converted by a series of reactions that ends in the readily fissionable U-235 - this is called "breeding"
