Tactile sound effects - EarthquakeSound Quake 10B

@RussiaTrue
More responsive. More resolution. More powerful at higher frequencies. In short more musical for higher frequencies. I have not experienced the IBeam myself but have checked out what is said about them by those that have. Personally I think transducers are best used below 40hz wher...

@FeeNSanD
Hi, I have no video at higher volume. It was enough as it is. The Quake is always vertical and its internally mounted to the sofa frame. The sofa looks standard.. Re Buttkicker, it possibly has more brute force but the penalty is perhaps less finesse and speed. The Quake is more than ...

@Deathproof87DK
Sure although I have not experience it myself. I believe the Quake is more powerful at very low frequency stuff, sub 40hz. The Ibeam faster with the higher frequencies. I think both were compared at AVForums by some members. We have a sub section that also caters for tactile sound.

@osensor
Missed this one, sorry. Carnivorous plant societies have seeds and will also have unusual VFT variants. You can make your own seeds if you must manually fertilise the plant with pollen.
The plants are slow to grow. About 5 years to reach full size.
VFT compost is very low in nutrie...

The leaves can die off a bit for the winter. Just remember not to over water it through the winter and keep somewhere cool but not freezing. Do not worry about it not 'eating' it will not starve :-). Do not fertilise it or report into normal compost.

@kingbliss23
Not if it falls to the bottom. The sides are too narrow and they are slippery. Also, if it hasn't got many dead flies already caught there will be a digestive liquid to drown in. I have also heard that the fumes down there are toxic too. Its a smart plant and very effective at cat...

Yes I know. I never feel the need to force feed mine although I have a nice big one on my office window that catches plenty of flies and its definitely bigger than my home grown one of same age. Of course the environmental conditions are more stable and its a bit sunnier in th...

There is a good explanation by the Carnivorous Plant Society but I can't link directly to it, sadly.
Its a combination of acid growth, turgor pressure and cell division. I think acid growth is responsible for the initial snap shut and the others take over for the slower phases.

Good question. Trap closure has 3 phases. Trapping, Compression and Sealing. The video has a time lapse section at the end so you can see the compression phase. It takes a few hours and the bug must keep wriggling otherwise the trap will reopen thinking it was just dead useless stuff ...

Wind and rain blow them away. The traps are only good for a few goes anyway. That is why its bad for the plant to false trigger them eg kids finger, because it goes hungry and yet has to grow new traps to replace spent ones. It will get weaker and weaker if this repeatedly hap...

Just take a small artists paintbrush and transfer pollen from the stamens of one flower head to the stigma of another. Small shiny black seeds should form.
