The Rationalist's Prayer

I value my knowledge.
It is my sword, it is my shield.
It is my food, it is my vice.
It is my passion, it is my companion.
And it is my light into the darkness.

With knowledge, I can strike down any challenge that lays before me.
With Knowledge, I can protect myself from any hardship that befalls me.
It sustains me in times of draught.
It keeps me lean in times of plenty.
And it will always lead me forword out of uncertainty.

Knowledge teaches me that I don't have all the anwsers.
But knowledge teaches me to never stop looking for them.
It shows me that it is an eternal search, never ending.
That I should never stop learning, no matter how big or small.
That only when I step away from the pieces and look at the whole do I see.

With knowledge at my side, I have no fear.
From myself, or from others.
From the enemy from within, and the enemy from without.
It lights my way, and scares away those that would stand against me.
And the only fear I have is having it taken away from me.

I value my knowledge.
It is my tool, it is my weapon.
With it my mind is free, and it is clear.
And in all honesty, I would not have it any other way.
