this would never happen in the netherlands. If they block a cycle path they just give them an entire car lane. Which means the cars lose a lane but the situation is much safer.

@davidisaurus actually it isn't because when you see her ride later on you can see that she stretches her entire leg. This is how the bike shop owners in Holland check if you have the right size bike.

A study showed that cyclists take more risks if they have a helmet on and that drivers are less careful around cyclist with helmets on. So wearing a bicycle helmet actually has a negative effect on behavior.
