yo man. i use digidesign pro tools (for recording and mastering), and ableton live (for electronica/midi production). Do some research before you buy. Steinberg does make great stuff. But i guarantee way over half of the artists you listen to use ableton live for music creation. Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Sasha, Chris Leibing, chris Lake, to name a bare few. I personally don't like fruity loops. Reason is good for an all-around one-time purchase. Other sequencers don't come with all that much in the way of virtual instruments. drop a line if ya got any questions!

oh and btw Tiesto uses Cuebase and he hasnt even mastereed it yet either so its pretty advanced.
recommend it but its so hard to use and you need to download all samples and new sounds to make it sound alot better but the ammount of stuff you can do makes it unmatchable its the fave with DJmag aswell.
