But one way requires insulating wraps, is more difficult, takes more time, and has aesthetic… issues, And the other requires no additional parts, is easier, faster, and leaves the charger looking like it did when it was new.

The easier route, and the one I suspect that Apple will take, is just to incorporate iMessage into iChat.

Apple was never in ANY danger of going bankrupt. First, MS did NOT give Apple any money, they bought 150M in stock (which they later sold for a huge profit.) At the time, Apple had over 2 Billion dollars in liquid cap...

This is simply not true. NeXTSTEP was based on MACH, written down the street form me at CMU. MACH itself was a microkernal OS based on BSD architecture.

While NeXTSTEP was developed in-house, it was done so by building on MACH, not by starting from scratch.
