please excuse my typos - i cant be bothered to re-read and correct - still in the Christmas spirit ie lazy (& im tired from travelling). Plan was to see Bergen, then up the coast to Trondheim to Tromso via Lonforn (?) Islands, & maybe Hammerfest. there were some very good programmes on TV here about the shared heritage between Scotland & Norway (esp during the war - "dont mention ze war !!! ze germans might be listening !!) & also about the Norwegian coastline, inc Spitzbergen island & its micro climates etc. Wonderful scenery - ive looked for them on YT but nobody has uploaded.

What a difference a day makes............plummeting temperatures today 2c !!! And biting cold wind. Tmrw ? +10c but with hurricane winds & heavy rain! At least no sign of snow - Ive sent it to France & Germany to get them back for all the bitching at the UK in the EU. Been reading about your very, very stable economy & your self suffiency in energy etc & your heritage (?) fund (Norways little nest egg). I cant understand how the UK has to import energy? Its bizarre, Scotland is self suffienct - we export to England, but apparently - wait for it, typical British thinking here - we export to Europe our gas (cheaply) they then sell back to us at a more expensive price!!!

BTW, that rakfish sounds horrible? What does it taste like? Ive eaten Polish food & they have these pasta dumplings/ravioli that they eat with sour cream - I about died , yuk! To show you how warm its been in the UK, guess what I saw today ? wasps !!

Happy Hogmonay!!!!!!!!!! from a sub-tropical UK, may it be a great year! Keep feeding me with those music videos & topical chat. And thank your mother for sending me those Nordic-theme jumpers - very nice, although the balaclava was too much!! I plan to visit Norway in 2012 - Bergen & may travel further North - Tromso etc - Happy New Year!
