The problem of this guy is the fact that he's pro-european, but know that his country can't join the club, because facts everyone knows, so he wants a new thing (not the EU it self) so that they have the excuse of... errm.. well we want to join that new club, because you know, in the former one, we fucked it!!

Make no mistake. I am not anti-European, I am pro-European. I want to live in a continent where we walk together and trade together.
What I don't want is the EU! What the EU has done is terrible! Talking about solidarity, huh?!
Now you, the German, badmouth the Greeks, the Greeks now badmouth you, the Germans!
And it can't be reformable because the European-parliament doesn't make laws, but delay or deny them.
It's the Government who makes the laws and the parliament says yes to them!

If the EU was democratic, then they would have given the Danes, the British and all the rest of Europe a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, but they didn't. Why? Because the EU are afraid of public opinions.
And when the majority of the Europeans says no to a untied states of Europe, I don't think we should have one.
We should rather take away the European Union, and replace it with a free trade agreement. And we have the council of Europe for things we can work together on, like the Environment!

PLEASE don't believe the outright fraud that is the European Union. I want a peaceful and prosperous Europe as much as the next person. But the EU is not the model that we should be embracing to achieve that. The EU is completely anti-democratic. The people at the top (ie: Messrs Van Rompuy and Barroso) were not elected to their posts, hence we the people do not have the power to remove them as it stands now. And don't even get me started on the Lisbon Treaty. Their utter disregard for the will of the Irish people was sickening, and every other nation in the EU didn't even get to vote! I am an unapologetic Eurosceptic, but that doesn't mean I don't want to be friends with and trade with other European countries (of course I do). But each nation needs to maintain their right to determine their own destiny, it's the cornerstone of democracy, and the EU doesn't like that one bit.

Calling EU undemocratic isn't a dumb reason. Unless you think that Democracy is a dumb thing :P

You mention the people who died in WW2 being happy about the EU. Well, that may be true for the German's who died trying to force a pan European state on everyone but Britiains fought and died to prevent it. Stop promoting the EU as a force for peace and good. You are doing what the ruling elite want ....

Have you heard of the Euro? Do you know what its doing to the economies of Ireland, Greece, Prtugal and Spain? Do you like the fact your country is having to bailout the poorer countries of the EU? Do you think that can go on for ever? The EU is a fascist superstate, with most of its decisions taken by unelected beaurocrats. I see your views are largely driven by fear of Asia, which is fair enough but being free from them at the price of being ruled by faceless and undemocratic Eurocrats is not freedom. Oh, and by the way, Britain's culture is nothing like that of continental Europe.

Long live the European Family. Don`t mind any anti-Europeans. During the Lisbon vote almost! 50% of Dutch voters voted for it. Yes we still have many skeptics but we have many people for a stronger EU as well. And as always certain people never show vision for a better future. People said men could never fly. Men could never go faster then the speed of sound. If we had followed the pessimists we would still be living in caves.

And the US was still fighting Civil war a hundred years after it was founded. A century later they put a man on the moon. One day the people will vote directly on an EU President. One day we will see a true European Defense force stopping the endless euro`s wasted on needing 27 different military structure`s all needing their own officers. Budget discipline, More innovation. More cooperation, More businesses stimulus.

The people who died in World War 2 would be so happy to see this day of a Europe united in Peace. I will never give up promoting the dream.
