It's been a while since I uploaded anything to this account. I wanted to do something special, so I obtained and restored the very rare, first film version of Alice In Wonderland, made in England by Cecil Hepworth in 1903 (this versatile director also plays Frog in the film). ...

What was involved in restoring these old films. Do you make telecines of the prints or digitally remove scratches and so forth. I'm just curious. I used to remove dust/scratches digitally on features when I worked in Hollywood.

I have just fallen in love with your channel after seeing Alice in Wonderland (1903). It was grainy, black & white, and had no dialogue, but I was way more interesting than any of the movies that has been released in the past 10 years. I think its wonderful your restoring these old films, that can be viewed by new generations of film fans. Keep doing what your doing! I like it!

I tip my hat to your enthusiasm and passion. It isn't my medium but I respect your
sincere efforts. I understand about donations and knocking on doors! Have you thought of contacting TCM or Robert Osborne personally? There maybe some kind of scholarships set up through places like the Whitney Museum or one of the Andy Warhol societies. I would also approach some of the larger independent art studio's. With computers a lot of their staffing and overheads have been condensed and they are much more financially stable than they were 20 years ago. Matt Goeing who does the Simpsons, some of the people a bit off the beaten path. It may be to your advantage to have a partner or yourself put a couple weeks into just researching these studio's. I wish you the best of luck and may God's gentle wind always move your heart. Au revoir, Cathy |
