Hmm, thats hard to say without actually seeing your device. Mine came pretty much as seen, without an enclosure or drive electronics.

Thanks! Ha, good idea. I ended up taping down a couple of round pens for it to slide across, so that they had less surface area to grind across- that seemed to work pretty well.
Also, reducing the amount of etchant so that it just barely covers the board seemed to help.

Ha, yeah! It should definitely use analog delay lines for memory.
I actually build a bigger version of this test for an art project, but haven't gotten to finishing it yet :-)
