About this user

My music and I have always had a wonderful and often "dramatic" relationship. I have an interest in a variety of musical styles--from Bach to Xalam.

Perhaps that's why I have a fondness for "dramatic music," which encompasses music for film, tv, video games, musical theatre and especially opera (the 400-year-old precursor of all the others). In the movies, there is no end to the diversity of musical styles that might be used to enhance the mood(s) of the story, and that suits me just fine!

So this channel will focus on my efforts (always learning) to create meaningful musical backdrops for visual mediums (whether moving pictures or still, as in a slide presentation).

ON THE OTHER HAND ...

... as a composer, I also believe in the importance of getting out and actually "playing" an instrument, that the act of performing before an audience can give one a creative edge. so you may see an odd clip or two of "me" the musician, either as a soloist, in a group, or perhaps conducting a group.

AND

Always learning myself, but as a trained, experienced (and "degreed"!) music educator, the inevitable "how-to" video will sooner or later make an appearance (I'm open to suggestions on topics of mutual interest!). Certainly, something related to music theory, counterpoint, or specific DAW techniques will be in order.
