Mountain View Christian Schools (MVCS) Leadership Institute is a Preschool through 12th grade private school located on 20 acres in the Northeast area of Las Vegas. MVCS has been serving our Las Vegas community since 1983.
MVCS features a Leadership Institute, college-preparatory curriculum and extensive electives program. We also offer a comprehensive athletics program that features a gymnasium with weight room, and 8-acre athletic complex with baseball, football, and softball fields. The mission of Mountain View Christian Schools is to graduate Christian leaders who by their commitment to academic excellence and spiritual vitality will transform the world for Jesus Christ
MVCS holds Accreditation from 3 outside agencies: Association of Christian Teachers and Schools (ACTS), the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools (NAAS).
MVCS is also recognized by the Nevada Department of Education. The Nevada Department of Education supports our choice of accreditation, curriculum and selection of teachers.
Programs and services offered by MVCS:
• Leadership Institute: The Leadership Institute has been driven by our mission to graduate Christian leaders, expressed in our core values, and steered by our vision statement. Leadership development has always been foundational to our organization, whereby we have launched a dual-pronged approach to developing leaders in both our school and our church. The Leadership Institute will be implemented using identifiable benchmarks by helping to develop leadership skills, communication skills, and problem solving applications. Students young and old will have the opportunity to obtain formal leadership training.
• College Preparatory Curriculum and extensive elective program
• Athletics: Our athletic program is designed to develop the character and leadership abilities of MVCS student-athletes. The Junior High Prep and Junior High athletic programs serve as the foundation for High School. Our varsity teams have been a member of the NIAA since 1998, and currently compete in the 2A Southern Divisions.
• Fine Arts: MVCS offers a multi-level instruction where any student at any level has the chance to become involved in fine arts. MVCS offers Art, Band, Media, Web-design, Dance, Sequential Art, Culinary, Theater, Photography, and Music. MVCS students perform in concerts, plays, festivals (including our annual "Imageo Deo" Fine Arts Festival) and competitions. The MVCS Symphonic Band has been the featured performers at special Las Vegas community events.
• Online Courses: MVCS offers students the ability to take online courses. This has proven to be especially helpful to our International Students who might need to stay up to date with class work while completing necessary documents and visas to travel to the U.S.
• International Students: MVCS students not only come from every part of the Las Vegas Valley, they also come from all over the world. Our school has been home to students from Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America. International students at MVCS are required to have a guardian, a place to live, and transportation to and from school.
• Nursery School: In 2010, MVCS began accepting nursery age children and providing a much needed service to current and prospective MVCS families.
• Preschool: The philosophy of Mountain View Christian Preschool is to "train up children in the way they should go," by providing a Christ-centered, academic-based preschool program.
