Hey ... to my knowledge..yes metro is 3g in Dallas and Detroit only. Those were the only 2 cities to deploy 3g coverage before metro's reps decided to abandon that and go straight to LTE or 4g. I live outside of Detroit and I get 1X EVDO which is 3g!! Hope this helps and the blackberry 8530 is pretty nice for 229.00 after rebate.
