MS Australia has been supporting and helping people with multiple sclerosis (MS) since 1956. Through an extensive network of centres, branches, support groups and health services, MS Australia provides specialist programs to people with MS, their families, carers, friends and health care professionals.
MS Australia informs people with MS how best to achieve as full and healthy a lifestyle as possible while managing the symptoms of MS, raises funds for the provision of services, programs and research, educates the community, and liaises with government and other bodies on MS related issues.
Although we do not yet understand why some people are susceptible and others are not, we do know that an estimated 20,000 Australians have MS.
