This was a most superior variety series ever made! truely a classic ABC-TV icon from

the 1960s. but more impressive,was the fact that United Artists Television also co-produced

this series,,and that Dick Tufeld was the voice announcer,while working as the voice of the

"Robot" on "LOST IN SPACE"-m...

These are beautiful animals! it is even more amazing that these are members of the Viverridae

Family,which includes Civets and Mongooses. the Ring Tailed Cat,or Cocomistle almost

looks simular to Genets,,but they are cousins to the Racoon and Coatimundi.

It's really hard to belive that this was the first TV series-live series,of SPIDERMAN,.decades

before the Tobey McGuire movies. it was a bland,but somewhat entertaining series,that tried

its best-but met with a merciful cancelation by CBS,who was having a tremendous success

his business when he did this series-but this was 1959,when "THE TWILIGHT

I am amazed that no one remembers "IN THE KNOW" which CBS introduced in

the Fall 1970,on their Saturday Morning line-up-this was before "IN THE NEWS"

was launched in 1971. "IN THE KNOW" was hosted by the "JOSIE AND THE

PUSSYCATS" charecters,and ran through-out the 1970-71 season.

This was an intresting period,since Marvel Charecters on TV in 1978 was

Amazing,on how a cousin of The Mongoose/Civet,could make a quick snack out

of a potentially lethal Scorpion,,and especially the ones in that part of the world,

which are known to be extremely dangerous!

In the years that i have personally studied Mongooses,i have only heard of,or

about the Crab-Eating Mongoose,until viewing this footage. it almost resembles

the Egyptian Mongoose,which is a three foot long species,and likely the known
