Alen "A-Dilla" Daniel grew up in a rough neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. In such a place it's hard to see what your future will hold for you, or to even picture a future at all. But Alen had a talent, a talent that he was going to use as a compass to navigate himself through the rough terrain of his life. He realized how rough that terrain was when he was very young. Besides getting in trouble with the law before he reached a prosecutable age, he also found himself in the hospital one night, very near death and begging God to spare his life. He had lost a lot of blood and death had become too real and too close. Looking down at the tubes in his stomach, he vowed to be something special to his family and to his community if he was given a second chance.
Alen had already learned by then that he could rap, and rap really well. This was going to be his way out, his light at the end of the tunnel. Through his connections he managed to get his work heard by Swizz Beatz, who began the nurturing process for him. His rapping has also gotten the attention and interest of LL Cool J and a lot of love from Mary J. Blige, among others. With his feet firmly planted on the ground, and with lots of love for and from his family, Alen is beginning the journey ahead of him that will lead him to success as not only the first famous Assyrian rapper, but the first famous Middle Eastern rapper, to pave the way for others that may want to follow.
