A love to call your own
a hand to hold with yours alone
a kindred soul to bond with yours
to fill your heart with joy

A glance across a crowded room
a smile to light the dark
a friend to have to call your own
whose heart belongs to you alone

Hopes and dreams to fill a jar
that light up like captured fireflies
together to contemplate their beauty
and release to see them fly

May all the hopes and dreams you have
resting quiet in your captive heart
find their way outside the jar
to light the dark for you and I

If I never met you, I wouldn't like you. If I didn't like you, I wouldn't love you. If I didn't love you, I wouldn't miss you. But I did, I do, and I will.

Distance between two hearts is not an obstacle... rather a beautiful reminder of just how strong true love can be.
