    MJCGN MJCGN commented:

@mikebarter387 What about the "bowline on a bight" that elic123456 referred to as "double bowline"? It runs through the harness twice and it's easy to loosen even after heavy falls. I love it. Beneath the figure 8 it is the second established knot for harnesses where I climb.

@vickizspace I think you shouldn't compare these climbers that way. Climbing toprope is different to lead climbing is different to free soloing. The less security the rope gives to you, the less you will climb at your limit. Reasonably.

    MJCGN MJCGN commented:

@starasoris That's all correct. One more tip: The whole movement should go through your body like a wave, initiated by the tension in your legs, following your hip (!) moving towards the wall, and then (!) your upper body. (Reading books sometimes is more helpful than the Internet ;-)

Not too many visitors in the gym, huh? Look at all the funny knots in the background, the guy must have plenty of time. Btw, I don't need a 'security knot', because I know how to estimate the rope length. This is HOW TO talk without explaining anything.
