MINERO is 104 years old!

Modern mining began in Benguet in 1903.

In 1938, the Baguio Mine Operations Safety Association or BMOSA was established. Eight major mines in the Baguio Mining District started it. This later became the Philippine Mining Safety and Environment Association, or PMSEA, the basis of MINERO.

The main aim of BMOSA and PMSEA: to ensure the SAFETY and WELFARE of MINERS.
Only MINERO can.

MINERO believes

• That people and the environment are created by God and should therefore be protected, developed and enriched

• That miners have the right to life and a fair livelihood

• That the Filipino people have the primary right to the nation's wealth and natural resources

• That miners should not only protect the environment but respond to environmental and man-made disasters to save people's lives
