This is ythe sort of thing Maimonides opposed, being rooted in Akiba, as expressed in Guide. The RAMBAM if you really reade Guide, wanted to maintain traditions without superstition. From Bible and Talmud he takes the utilitarian notion of truth; from the Greek, the Correspondence theory of truth.

Mr Perot was clearly the least practiced as a high level politician. Perot had much more logic and substantive content, but much the poorer presentation. It was to me a kind of argument against this sort of debate: the more "spin" the better the debater.
