Conclusion. All streams in Maryland provide countless benefits, including filtration of rain, erosion control, fishing and recreation opportunities, and beauty that is unparalleled. It is of utmost importance that we respect, protect, and conserve the natural resources within our freshwater streams. By protecting Maryland's waters, we help the Chesapeake Bay, the largest estuary in the United States. Contact Maryland's Department of Natural Resources' Monitoring and Non-Tidal Assessment Division for any questions regarding this video, and any requests for the DVD.

The high concentration of farmland require special concern when dealing with sediment and chemical levels in the waterways in this area.
