I am an ardent fan of both British and American bands, especially certain really talented ones of the Sixties who should have been bigger and deserve greater attention and appreciation.I try to spread the word about these bands to new generations. I also love Rhythm and Blues and good ole Rock'n'Roll (especially those fabulous early Sun Records). But my absolute favorites must include , Georgie Fame , the Liverpool Five, Zoot Money, Chris Farlowe, the Big Three, Joe Brown, Screamin' Lord Sutch , ZZ Top, Jethro Tull and the 13th Floor Elevators.
I have an extensive collection of 45s, lps, cassettes, 8 track tapes and even a load of reel-to-reel tapes.I am glad that record players are coming back because vinyl had its own unique tonal qualities, but some engineers are now getting pretty good at digitally capturing that true record studio sound.Check out some of my favorites and subscriptions.Enjoy!!!!

Hi there....congrats on your promotion of the Liverpool Five and your efforts appear to be paying off with more of their material turning up on You Tube.......I think that they are one of the greatest bands from the sixties finally getting some of the kudos they have long deserved.

Hey there .I really enjoy your taste in sixties music and especially your promotion of the Liverpool Five. I really like them too and will join you and others in spreading the word about them to later generations.Truly they were one of a kind in being in a unique position to synthesize music from both sides of the Atlantic, much more so than any of their English compatriots who could not spend much time in the US.

Hi MB300TE this is Dave Sampson, how are you I would like to thank you for the kind words you have said about me I really appreciate it. The Ricky Nelson thing still exists in me he was my favourite man and a good friend we were all robbed of a great talent that fateful New Years Eve, I still do gigs with my great friend James Burton when he comes here to the UK another wonderful man and Musician..
I am very interested in getting a copy of my first demo from you if that is possible as mine was mislaid many years ago. We are compiling a new CD of all my original EMI recordings and some Radio Shows I did in 1960 plus some extras with the Hunters never before released..and that demo would be a wonderful bonus, I can remember making the demo in a small Studio in Wood Green in North London...look forward to hearing from you..Dave..

Hey, you left a comment on my page. They were on my faves, but I did a favorites clean out. They were tossed, I'm afraid. they are amazing, don't get me wrong, but I like to keep things in order and I haven't listened to them in a very long time. lol. Besides, what good is favoriting it when you've spent a portion of your evening in New York trying to find the CD? Let alne the record?

Hello MB300TE I agree with you" Wings" is a wonderful song I have both versions one by Tim Buckley and another by a group called the Common Market which you indicate was infact the Liverpool Five Wow! Coincidently the Common Market version was on RCA and the Liverpool Five recorded for RCA if what you say is true then the superb lead vocals on the Common Market's version was in fact Steve Laine also listen to the harmonies in particular the vocal break very cool.Tim Buckley's version is great but I think The Liverpool Five /Common Market version get's the nod.Hopefully Sundazed records will include this song on the next Liverpool Five cd.

Hello MB300TE I am also a lover of the lesser known 60's groups and I agree with you The Liverpool Five were certainly one of the best I saw them many times in the Seattle area and their performances always sounded great. About 4 years ago I visited the EMP in Seattle and they were not even mentioned which I find very strange because they were so popular.I bought the Best of The Liverpool Five cd and it is great I think you would agree Sundazed records have done a wonderful job.
