I fixed the crashing by taking the folder that holds the games files out of the folder that it typically gets extracted too.

Here is the file hierarchy it was originally in:

Desktop POKEMON_TYPE WILD_ver_05.2_patched TYPE WILD_ver_052 "Game Files"
