25-06 will have more range than .243, yotes should be doable within 600 yards, 243 ur gonna be looking at about 400, minus 100 yards for each for deer if you wanna keep the general 1000 ftlbs minimum rule, yotes dont need that much. .

inexpensive coyote rifle best deal is a savage axis. Look at either .243 or 25-06, 25-06 can double as a varmint/yote rifle, and a deer/elk rifle. .243 is deer and smaller, with cheaper ammo, more than double the range of a .223.
