About Me:
A Maverick, "Always a 'work-in-progress'!"; Bass is determined to keep alive the Traditions of The Jazz Masters. His most recent release: Mickey Bass & The New York Powerhouse Ensemble 'Live' at the Jazz corner of The World", "Early Bird" Records 2009, reflects this sentiment to a 'tee'. Composer, Arranger, Bandleader and Broadcaster; His Educational Methods have influenced a host of now prominent Musicians.....His Original, Jazz Improvisational Method (accredited at "Hartt" College) "The Diminished Whole Tone Concept" (c) 2006 forms the basis of his Teaching Methods, and will soon be available for purchase online through rainbowjazz.com @ LOB III MUSIC CO.
Most recently Mickey was "Creative Consultant" for our "Jazz Legacy Series" at "Creole Music Supper Club" in New York City; Brownstone Entertainment Complex, LLC; bringing Jazz back 'Uptown'..to what was once the 'spawning ground' of the 'Be-bop' Era, and its' Traditions.....Brownstone also acts in the same capacity for "Jammin' On The Hudson"; "The Summer Concert series....for the serious Jazz lover" at Riverbank State Park in N.Y.C. Mickey was previously called upon to help resuscitate the Legendary Landmark Harlem Jazz Club "Minton's Playhouse"...He did so with "Brownstone Entertainment"s' "Be-bop Heritage Series...Then..& Now!"
This Series garnered both Critical Acclaim, and Public recognition.
