About this user
I've banged about North America for more decades now than I care to count, not getting much done but having a great time not doing it. Born at an early age on a small family farm in the West Virginia backwoods, I somehow early on piled mountain rocks into the caves of my heart. I grew up, though, on the Gulf Coast of Florida, and ever since I've had salt water for blood. Shortly after graduating high school I headed for Alaska, where I got a soulful of snow that's never melted. I lived there ten years, then moved to wet, windy Seattle, and I've pretty much been a damp airhead ever since. Until recently I lived in a self-made yurt deep in the woods behind a college in West Virginia, where I taught English and computer technology. Now I've washed up again on the shores of southwest Florida, where I mainly beachcomb.
