Lumenelle restores and recreates historic lighting fixtures. We hope to give you a behind the scenes look at what historic restoration is all about.
Lumenelle Highlights:
In 2007, Lumenelle was involved in the largest hotel renovation in North American history with our restoration of 23 crystal chandeliers for the Grand and State Ballrooms of Chicago's landmark Palmer House Hilton.
In 2008, Lumenelle was commissioned by the Archdiocese of Chicago to restore all of the historic chandeliers and light fixtures in St. James Chapel and the Cardinal's Wing at Archbishop Quigley Center (formerly Quigley Preparatory Seminary). St. James Chapel was modeled on the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris, the royal chapel built by King St. Louis IX to house the relics of the crown of thorns, and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
In 2009, Lumenelle restored eight Louis Comfort Tiffany crystal chandeliers in C.D. Peacock's (Chicago's first jeweler) original store.
In 2010, Lumenelle restored 30 one hundred year old light fixtures in the Frank Lloyd Wright Robie House.
Lumenelle also designs and manufactures custom lighting products in styles ranging from vintage to contemporary. Lumenelle has created custom light fixtures for clients from casinos (Four Winds Casino - New Buffalo, MI), to hotels (Arista Hotel - Naperville, IL), to museums (Glessner House Museum - Chicago).
The carbon rods get used up as they arc. When these tanning lamps were new, you could buy a box of replacement rods just for these. You can still buy new carbon rods that will work in one of these since carbon rods are still made for industrial uses.
