    Varshavyanka (Варшавянка) in English

    TURN UP THE VOLUME FIRST!

A lesser-known Paul Robeson performance of a well-known revolutionary song. It was originally a Polish revolutionary son...

    LuluPolska1 LuluPolska1 commented:

Please understand that this is primarily a Polish patriotic song.

Warsaw is one of the great hero cities of the world

and it actually has not one but two city anthems:-

    Warszawianka 1831 and Warszawianka 1905.

It is an expression of the spirit of Polonia Dominat et Omnia Vincit

    Siklawa "POBUDKA"

Bezfinansowy, beznakładowy, bez oświetlenia, bez prądu teledysk, ku pocieszeniu serc.

Sorry:- s/b "Zycie dla kobiety Polskiego nie jest zawsze tak slotko!"

(unfortunately my keyboard does not know how to write in Polish)

@bluemune2 Sweetie, it looks as if you did not learn how to write English very well either.

It should be "I wish I knew" and not "I wish I new".

Why did Karolinka leave Karlik? Why not?

He might be handsome but she must be the prettiest girl in Poland

so she obviously has some choices to explore...

    Hohenfriedberger Marsch

A good version of music written by Friedrich the Great , king of Prussia ( 1712-1786 )

    LuluPolska1 LuluPolska1 commented:

This melody was part of the state-owned cultural property of Prussia,

the German Empire, and the Third Reich.

However Poland was one of the victorious Allied powers of World War Two

and has the right to claim this cultural property as war reparations.

On behalf of Poland and the Polish people

British Anthem, God Save the Queen (with lyrics)

British national anthem "God Save the Queen" with lyrics.

Most recognised flag in the world, and most recognised anthem in the world.

    LuluPolska1 LuluPolska1 commented:

    @GREdimitraki12

    It would change to "King"

but if he were a gay boy

then most likely everyone would just informally keep on singing "Queen" anyway

given the usual British sense of humor (smile!).

    Marsz Warszawianka

    Marsz Warszawianka.

    LuluPolska1 LuluPolska1 commented:

@IustitiaPax Yes dear, perhaps it was so once upon a time but not anymore.

I look at the map and I do not see the Austrian Empire but Poland is still there.

Poland prevails and overcomes all and every May 3 we Poles celebrate this fact

by dancing on the graves of the old empires which oppressed ...

@bezzi120 With all due respect, I like this version best.

My grandfather was a soldier in Pilsudki's Legions

and my father was a soldier in the Polish Second Corps

so I have very good Polish credentials.
