My name is Luke and I'm an amatuer poet from London. I'm a proud Irish Londoner, as well.My poems are mainly inspired by the work of Simon Armitage, John Cooper Clarke and John Agard, as well as the lyrics of Jarvis Cocker, Billy Bragg and Morrissey, along with the stand-up of Frankie Boyle and Dara O'Briain.
I try to be relateable, and not hide the fact that I'm incredibly laddish. So I write about things such as football and women. I also sour those common teenage niceties with the occasional poem about politics, religion or love.
Another main inspiration of mine is my heritage and national identity. As a child born into an Irish family I feel a deep connection to the Emerald Isle, but still feel quintessentially English, if we're going to get almighty stereotypical on this.
Also, I have a foul mouth, and this is reflected in my poetry, so if this offends you, you can fuck off, quite frankly.
would love to learn this! would a tutorial be possible?
