Both rely on massively energy intensive systems that inhere massively extensive infrastructure to meet basic needs. Both are force fed toxic foodstuffs at an unhealthy rate due to assumed surplus. Both exist primarily in tight, cramped, artificial environments, and both are mostly too dumb to understand that this is hell because "it's just what's 'always' been." How could a species adapt out of such a contrived system?

We used eugenics for thousands of years to mitigate the evolution of farm animals. Mutation comes up all the time, probably more now than ever with all the shit we force on animals but being so confined and isolated from basic natural controls, which instigate evolution, such as predators, weather disturbances, etc. essentially paralyzes the adaptive mutability of a species. Look at most of us Americans for example, do you see a big difference between us and the cows we consume at record rates?

I'm sorry but I can't seem to find the comment you were replying to and so I'm not going to reply to the first part of your statement. I have my own issues with science but they're more to do with the capitalist paradigm that I feel acts as the motivator for most scientific inquiry. I don't think it's a hoax, I just think profit-as-bottom line is one of the primary framing points of it in much of the world.
