Commands are insisting soldiers be "rubber stamped" and making sure they stay in the fight, at all costs. In spite of the fact that these guys' families at home may/will suffer the consequences of it. They don't care. They only care if they can't keep it out of the "funny papers" (ie the media).

The rubber stamping has gotten worse since this event. But everyone is so busy going "rah rah shish boom bah Support our Troops" they aren't actually supporting the troops, or their families. A lot of people don't know that when an IED goes off over there, the shrapnel can reach here.
