@gdog48001 haha, No i wouldn't although some people would classify them together. Catfish are less tolerant than carp, hence my dirty fish comment. I've pulled them out of streams that only contained carp and human fecal matter out of a CSO.

Suffocate a carp? you do know that they can survive 45 minutes out of water and swim away like champs...even more finicky fish like smallmouth and brookies can survive 15 min out of water after being chased in a tank for 10 min. Granted it does take them approximately 2 hours to return to homeos...

Its a Common Carp...They are from Asia, although they are not publicized as "Asian Carp" such as the silver carp and the bighead carp.
