OK, let me point something out right here at the very beginning. I do NOT discriminate against people because of their race. Race is a meaningless term that has no place in the modern era.

When I criticise something about Islam, I am NOT being racist, as Islam is NOT a race. When I criticise Christianity, I am not being racist, because Christianity is NOT a race.

What I DO criticise and talk about is stupid thinking. Belief in fairy tales is ridiculous as far as I am concerned and it is OK to ridicule the ridiculous.

Like most people, I get affected by stuff around me.

The two things that affect me most are opposite in nature. One brings me down or angers me and the lifts me up and fills me with joy.

The thing that brings me down and angers me is stupid, blind, unthinking faith. Religion, creationism, fundamentalism and other forms of non-thinking are a plague on this planet that I would love to see disappear from our collective mind-scape forever.

The thing that lifts me up and brings me joy is science. All the sciences. They fill one with hope, with knowledge, with anticipation and with wonder. Science and the light of reason are things worth having in this world. Hopefully we will see a world of reason one day.

Now, about me and my likes and dislikes.

Life is like this. We all take chances and face the risks. There is no such thing as a safe bet.

Hmm, likes: Sushi Train in Bathurst Street. Motorcycles, of course (I own one and enjoy riding it and will not give it up, full stop). I love reading books of all kinds, love going to the cinema. Enjoy nature immensely, so therefore, the following: sailing catamarans, hiking through the bush, camping when I can, hanging out by the ocean, listening to the wind, feeling the rain. Clouds, sun, air, green things, shadows, mist, fog, the smell of lemon scented gum trees.

Do I have a sense of humour? Of course, but it can be wicked though.
