LCBMIT

London College of Business Management and Information Technology (LCBMIT) is the independent education arm of Stockwell Green Community Services (SGCS), a community-based voluntary organisation, to provide affordable education to students from all backgrounds, but in particular those students from low income and disadvantaged backgrounds in the UK and countries around the world.

We now have over 1,000 students studying on our courses, from countries including the UK, Pakistan, India, Philippines, and South America. They use excellent facilities across our 3 campuses in London.

We provide extraordinary financial support to our students, where to date we have extended over 500 scholarships. We retain our community and social welfare ethos through SGCS, and work with local community organisations, and universities and governments on a national and international level.

LCBMIT's courses are practice-based, vocational and professional in nature, and are designed to enhance students' employability. LCBMIT further takes pride in strong quality assurance procedures and multi-ethnic student community and staff.

LCBMIT is focusing on a three strand strategy, based on academic excellence, making people employable, and addressing economic disadvantage. We therefore take pride in a research active faculty, with lecturers from Harvard, CASS Business School, and LSE. Equally, we have an Advisory Board made up of members that have a wealth of experience of working in education and the community.

We have an Employability and Skill Enhancement Centre (ESEC) which has built strong links with industry and entrepreneurs, to help build the business skills of students and provide them with work placement opportunities for our students. We invest resources in schemes that develop the life skills of our students, such as the Talent Management and Student Ambassadors Schemes.

Our plan is to become a university within the next 10 years, so that our students can be part of a much larger institution. Appropriate strategies are being put in place to turn this into a reality.
