'Turning My Life Around' is the story of Kim, whose father's drink problem brought on by the death of Kim's mum brings terrible circumstances. The animation highlights in a graphic way how alcohol can be such a damaging force to individuals and their loved ones - Little Kim came from a discussion about our own life experiences. The idea of an 8 year old girl helped us to tell our story without it being about any one of us in particular. Our message is that heavy drinking harms families but its not as simple as that." Team Ten - D.Buxton, H.Brown, J.Eagle, L.Gregory (Whitehouse Centre, Bristol) writers of 'Turning My Life Around. Team Ten's story won the drug and alcohol category of the Sharp Shotz Animation Competition 2008/9. The film was animated by Theo Jones under the guidance of Team Ten, University of the West of England and Aardman Animations The title track - 'Booze Britain' written and performed by AJ, the winner for the drugs category of Sharp Shotz Unsigned Sharp Shotz Animation and Music competitions seek to increase the skills of young people, understanding of issues such as drug, alcohol and violence, and promote positive activities.
