The first half of this really hints of Keith Emerson style improv. I hear subtle and probably non-intentional references to Karn Evil 9 2nd Impression, Trilogy and the actual Welcome Back improv. Absolutely awesome. If you're a fail as far as music theory, then I don't even know what a note is.
