My name is Lindsay Marie Bender. I am an eighteen year old musician who was born and raised in Galloway, NJ. I taught myself how to play guitar when I was 13 and I've been playing ever since. I started writing my own songs about 3 years ago. Writing is the way I vent and get my emotions out. During high school I was privileged to be a part of the color guard in marching band. I like experiencing new things and having a good time. Even though I spend my time doing lots of things, writing/singing/playing music is my passion, love, life, whatever you want to call it, it's everything. Music to me isn't about the fame and the fortune it's about the people. I write my songs to be relatable. To have someone come and tell me that they connected with my music is the greatest feeling and it makes me so happy. I would be nothing without my family and friends. The people behind me are the greatest and they are the ones that will keep me going. I "Dream Big" and there is nothing that can change that. "It's My Time" and failure is not an option. I do my very best to stay away from things that could be harmful to me, and strive for excellence in all that I do. I want to be a great role model for people who are my age, and hope that they can appreciate my music. One HUGE goal I'm working towards is a project called "PROJECT GET ON ELLEN". I started this project because one day I just thought, "why not?" It would be the most amazing thing to have the ability to perform on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and that's exactly what this project is made to do. She is an amazing person and helps out so many people and that really touches me. I am inspired to become an advocate in the cure against inflammatory bowel disease. A disease that has touched not only my family but is one of the fastest growing diseases in childhood affecting millions of children worldwide. I am focusing on helping raise funds for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia IBD Center. They have made enormous strides in finding a cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
