overall, the year kinda was weak. on the mainstream side...dont even get me started, for real. there have been solid releases like ill bill & vinnie paz's heavy metal kings, the new JMT album is dope, rashad & confidence released a VERY solid album reminiscent of hip-hop's golden era, killarmy's dom pachino recently dropped a double album (many tracks produced by him), REKS' album is undoubtedly one of this year's gems, evidence's is nice, raekwon's shaolin vs wu-tang was a little underwhelming (cuban linx 2 was better), i still aint heard common's newest album, nas'll drop an album next year (lost tapes 2 should've dropped, FUCK DEF JAM!). i leaned towards underground more this year, i hope next year's better (necro and kool g. rap are droppin a collaborative LP next year, i'm eagerly awaiting for it). this year should've been better but still i'd rather gravitate towards underground than commercial garbage which only keeps gettin worse by the minute
