@DrivewayCleaningKent

Thank you. Well, if you're willing to spend a little more for a high quality ƒ/2.8 telephoto-zoom lens, take a look at used Nikon 80-200mm ƒ/2.8D AF ED (non-AF-S two rings version). KEH may has it in stock and stick to New, ±LN (like new), and ±EX (excellent) conditions only. The 80-200mm absolutely outperforms the 70-300mm in almost every way. Cheers!

Hey Guys great channel you've got here.
Any one on here recommend a 70-300 lens for my Nikon D90, haven't got loads to spend so needs to be a good price.
Thanks

Video tutorial was great, however the slide was moving too fast, but great info. Thanks

@geomaticstech

The 28-70mm and 24-70mm are somehow comparable but as we all already know this: the latter is the winner, overall.

No, the 28-70mm isn't weatherproofed.

Cheers!
geomaticstech (3 weeks ago)
so is the 28-70 compareable to the 24-70 in terms of image quality?
and is the 28-70 weather sealed?

thanks

@geomaticstech

'Sup.

Well, the 35-70mm is 28-70mm predecessor, so, no, they're not the same when it comes to image quality. The 35-70mm lacks ED glass elements that 28-70mm offers to reduce chromatic aberration at high apertures. Chromatic aberration shouldn't be a problem if you avoid working under harsh lighting and use Capture NX2 to process the RAW files. The 24-70mm is two generations better than 35-70mm (ED, Nano, and weatherproof sealants). In other words, you're comparing three totally different fruits here.

"D" is newer than non-"D" and it stands for Distance where the lens sends distance information to your camera for improved metering and flash exposure accuracy. "D" and "G" lenses come in handy if you use flash in automatic mode (iTTL/BL/FP, GN, AA, etc.) often.

Cheers!
