I'm a slightly confused college student with a job in retail (of course). I spend most of my non-work/school time reading Jane Austen and watching classic movies and period dramas. I discovered at a relatively young age that classic movies are way better than most movies of today. Sadly, I have no access to Turner Classic Movies, so here I am. I have some wonderful people here on Youtube to thank for allowing me to discover the existance of many classic actors and actresses. I've also seen a zillion wonderful classic movies (most of which are NOT AVAILABLE ON DVD, only heaven knows why), and I know there are a zillion more to watch still.
As I stated, I also love period dramas. Like with older movies, older books are so often just better. I love love love Jane Austen (I recently joined the Jane Austen Society of North America!) and I also enjoy reading some Elizabeth Gaskell and Charles Dickens. This led me to watching movies and miniseries based on their books, which led me to period drama as a whole. As a general rule, I like feel-good movies, musicals, and especially movies with happy endings. Feel free to recommend stuff to me. :-)
