It can be difficult to understand why individuals take their own lives.
Life can be painful and problems can seem overwhelming so for many suicide is a desperate attempt to escape unbearable suffering.
They might feel very alone and hopeless and believe nobody can help them or understand what they are going through. They may be experiencing so much pain they can't see any other option.
