As an Independent Theater/Performance Artist, Actor, Writer, Producer, Educator, and Purebred East Coast baby, Cornelius is an Artivist who is living "LIFE" OUT loud and turning pain into art. With acting, writing, storytelling, movement, and vocal visceral support as his wings Cornelius's utilizes these elements in the performance (and lecturing) space as a vessel for positive social change.

Cornelius also facilitates outreach workshops using methods of the performing arts intersected with personal and social issues that bring about awareness around various social, cultural, and artistic identities. His workshops are conducted with High School students, College students, adults, and various community organizations.

Creator and performer of the autobiographical one-man show "FlagBoy," and the auto-bio-docu performance piece "HomoAffection."

SYNOPSIS: FlagBoy, a true and authentic coming-of-age story about family, friends, and HIV. Cornelius Jones Jr., a young southern Black boy, explores his sexual identity as he navigates from the urban worlds of Richmond, Virginia and D.C. to NYC.

THE FATHER/BROTHER/BROTHA MONOLOGUES ( Formerly HomoAffection)

SYNOPSIS: explores the dynamics of black masculinity and identity through male-to-male intimacy, and ideas of fatherhood, brotherhood, sexuality, and HIV/AIDS. The piece is a conceptual narrative, an autobiographical tale of adventures, memories, dreams and visions, told through movement, text, spoken-word, music, and multi-media vignettes.

"Turn Your Pain into Art 1: What's your Flag?": A workshop exploring identity, anti-bullying, affirming the self, and building a better community by using theater based and performance techniques which consists of: storytelling (oral history), interactive activities, and movement techniques, and spoken-word. Facilitated through energetic and positive communal dialogue and collaboration these creative problem solving and self-reflective skills aim to potentially help you discover your Flag (Personal Pride & Self-Empowerment)

"Turn Your Pain into Art 2: Acting & Movement from Within": Performing the self while crafting the Personal Monologue and Choreo-Poem for Performance, by exploring and using varied methods of acting, movement, and creative writing techniques. All work is crafted from personal experience. This is a safe way to discover and explore your true talent and your individual voice.

"AFRO-BEAT DANCE CARDIO: The WORKOUT": Ever want the dance workout like the popular reality show Dance your Ass off? Well this is the class for you. A Physical workout using Afro-Caribbean, jazz, and modern dance techniques all set to Afro-Beat music. This class is for everyone and will operate at the group's speed. Instructor will give modifications for those who are not comfortable moving, however, the goal is to get you moving and unleash your mental limitations by engaging and empowering your body physically. Using varied dance techniques this will feel like an intense cardio workout but you will leave with basic understanding of dance and the physical body and a guaranteed sweat!
