A little bit about me:
I can clearly remember the day I happened across the knife that changed everything.
Rumaging through a box of scrap metal my Pop had under his workbench, I uncovered what turned out to be an unfinished project he'd begun some 20 odd years previously.
It was a hidden tang, 5 inch bladed, hunter/skinner that my Father had rough fitted with a brass bolster, pommel and a mahogany slab, but had either lost interest in it or become otherwise sidetracked. I was 15 at the time and spent that entire summer painstakingly filing away wood and metal until what I figured looked something like a knife emerged.
From the moment I laid eyes on that unfinished knife I was hooked.
Since then, I've designed and crafted many a knife, but I'll never forget that lonely, unfinished project that I stumbled across, or the lessons that first journey into knife making taught me.
I've been a practitioner of the martial arts since the age of 12 and strive to continually educate myself in the areas of personal protection and edged weapons techniques. I don't have an exotic military, or law enforcement pedigree, but I know people who do, and consider myself fortunate to call them family and friends. I ask a lot of questions and I do a lot of testing. I then mesure my results against what I consider to be the ultimate criteria: I give Marines/Soldiers/Sailors/Airmen & LEOs my knives and ask that they use them in their line of work and let me know what they think. We also drill with our knives and EDC them extensively.
The designs that work are available for purchase. The designs that don't work are documented, their shortcomings are corrected and they are not available for purchase.
Thus far, it seems to be a pretty good methodology.

As usual, an outstanding, detail oriented, subjective review. I appreciate your continued effort to provide the "regular Joe" with the sort of straightforward, practical insight that has proven to be such a trustworthy "go to" reference when researching the bewildering number of product offering...
